Moxibustion and Infared Heat Therapy

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of the herb mugwort on or close to the skin to facilitate healing.  Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands of years.  The purpose of moxibustion, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of Qi, and maintain general health. Mugwort, also known as artemesia vulgaris or ai ye in Chinese, has a long history of use in folk medicine. Research has shown that it acts as an agent that increases blood circulation.

The TDP mineral lamp was invented in China in 1978. Far Infrared light emissions increase microcirculation and loosens fascia to accelerate the natural healing process of the body. This type of therapy harnesses the healing power of infrared wavelengths of light. When infrared energy is delivered to injury sites and other painful areas, it dramatically increases circulation, reduces inflammation and promotes healing.
