Since the start of the pandemic, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Herbalist community has been meeting and discussing ancient texts and modifying Chinese herbal formulas used to treat plague over the centuries for the treatment of COVID-19.
Chinese medicine has been using herbal formulas to treat infectious diseases successfully for centuries. At the start of the pandemic, one hospital in China used TCM formulas alongside Western medical protocols to treat COVID-19-positive patients. This hospital not only had the most patients who recovered but also had fewer long-term COVID-19 returning patients.
While we are not legally allowed to say we treat COVID-19, it’s also true that, as a medical model, we don’t treat “disease”; we treat the person and how the disease shows up in their body specifically.
I personally have seen great success using our herbal formulas to treat COVID-19 within my clinic. I feel optimistic when I see the integration of Chinese herbal formulas and Western medical treatments working together to treat this plague effectively. May we continue to learn and share with each other for a healthier and brighter future in medicine.
It’s up to us as individuals. Our collective behavior has a great impact on how we fight this disease.
